Certified as an international mediator since 2019, Venky Narasiah comes to the field of mediation with a wealth of experience in the commercial world, including banking, charities, SME, accounting and IT.
A banker with more than 30 years of experience spanning investment, private and consumer banking, Venky has dealt with complex client and employee relationships. He has decades of experience in dealing with settlement issues in the financial industry. Armed with an in-depth knowledge of the banking business & infrastructure, he has spearheaded organizational transformation at a global level. Venky has worked in various countries, including India, Taiwan, Hongkong, Australia, Singapore, and the UK.
As senior MD/COO in Deutsche Bank, he aligned the operating model (IT systems, digital platform, and Operations) with the business strategy. His work spanned management of divestiture and build-out of multiple booking centers and legal entities. He managed diverse onshore businesses spanning multiple locations – India, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia & China, which he restructured to make them profitable.
Venky started his banking career in Citibank, where he gained in-depth knowledge of Asia-Pacific markets in Global Markets Risk Management and Derivatives trading. As the head of Risk Management, he set up the governance framework on a region wide basis. He was later the Head of Treasury and Business Development for the Investments division of the private bank.
He left Deutsche Bank in 2017 and took a brief sabbatical from banking by adopting a charity struggling from a lack of leadership. After a short stint at damage control, he took up the helm of this worthy cause as Executive Director. The charity, Diabetes Singapore, is now in a steady growth state, with well-defined strategy and programs for community/corporate sponsors, partnership with the Government, pharmaceutical companies, and healthcare providers.
Venky is a gold medallist from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). He is also CPA (Colorado), FCPA (Australia) and a CFA charter holder.
He lives with his wife and daughter in Singapore. In his spare time, Venky practices yoga and hopes to resume his Himalayan treks once the borders open.
